We created Rooted Vallejo to celebrate and care for the natural spaces that make our city unique. Through community action, outdoor stewardship, and creative public art and projects, we aim to highlight Vallejo’s beauty, strengthen city pride, and inspire a deeper connection to the environment around us.
President
Erin holds a bachelors in art & art history, a bachelors in fine arts, and a masters in visual development for games and animation. Clearly, she is passionate about art. Erin founded Rooted Vallejo to get things done in the city she calls home. As an ideas person, she knows the importance of getting your hands dirty and investing yourself in a project. Too often ideas die on the vine. Rooted Vallejo is an idea come to life, and Erin has big plans for Vallejo's outdoors spaces and public art.
Vice President
Alejandro grew up on the east coast before moving to California for school. He never thought he'd stay, but the pull of the Bay Area's natural wonders was too great. After bouncing around from Silicon Valley to Oakland, he moved to Vallejo on the advice of a local friend. He was immediately taken with the community – neighbors quickly became close friends and the city became home in a way that no other place ever had. He co-founded Rooted Vallejo to give back and, hopefully, inspire others to get more involved.
Vallejo Hike Club Lead
Camille is a Vallejo native who has always had a deep love for nature and the outdoors. She studied Wildlife Management and Conservation at Humboldt State University and now works as an Animal Care Specialist, where she enjoys teaching and inspiring people to connect with wildlife and the natural world. As a wife and mom of two, she is excited to step back into her element and help create a welcoming space where people can slow down, step away from the noise of everyday life, and rediscover the beauty that Vallejo has to offer.
