The City of Vallejo maintains a Community Tool Trailer stocked with landscaping tools and cleanup supplies to assist groups with community clean ups or beautification projects. This resource is offered to residents and groups free of charge to assist resident volunteers with their cleanups.
Available only for City of Vallejo residents
Must have a minimum of 10 volunteers.
Project must be on public property (park, greenspace) or nonprofit. NO PERSONAL PROPERTIES
Single- family residents in Vallejo may schedule four free curbside pickups annually
Bring your block together for a cleanup! This program requires one applicant/responsible party plus at least four neighbors to sign up on the application form.

Recology Vallejo provides account holders with a free Dump Coupon that is distributed each January. The coupon is valid for a single drop-off of up to 1,000 pounds of residential waste at the Devlin Road Transfer Station at no extra charge. Present your coupon with valid ID that matches your Recology account
Recology Vallejo provides 2 free bags of compost per Vallejo resident each week while supplies last. You must provide I.D. during pickup to show you are a current Vallejo resident.

In partnership with the Solano County Water Agency, the city of Vallejo offers Single-family residences $1.50 per square foot of lawn converted to water-wise landscaping. Rebates are capped at $1,500 per water account (equivalent to 1,000 sq. ft. of converted landscape).

The Solano County Water Agency offers rebates of up to $100 for the purchase and installation of a new, qualifying EnergyStar Most Efficient labeled high-efficiency clothes washer listed on the program’s Qualifying Product List.
The Solano County Water Agency offers Vallejo residents a rebate of 50% off the cost of a qualifying drought tolerant tree - up to $50 per tree (two tree maximum per household).
The following water-conserving products are eligible for a rebate of up to $50.00 (or up to $250.00 for all five) via the Solano County Water Agency.

PGE, through their Energy Savings Assistance program, offers appliance, repair, and home upgrades to income qualified individuals. Upgrade or repair heat pump water heaters, furnaces, lighting—even refrigerators.
Did you know you can borrow tools from the library, just like books? The Solano Library offers a wide selection — from shovels to leaf blowers — so you don’t have to buy tools you only need once in a while. You can borrow up to 2 tools at a time.

Grow something new in your own backyard! Solano County Library’s Seed Libraries let patrons take home a diverse selection of vegetable and flower seeds to plant and enjoy. It’s a simple way to start your garden, support pollinators, and connect with nature. There are seed libraries at the following locations:

Get free wood chips delivered to your house, school or community garden. ChipDrop finds local tree companies working in your area and notifies them that you would like some wood chips or logs (or both). The next time their truck is full they can pull up your information through ChipDrop and deliver the wood chips straight to your driveway, even if you're at work.
*please note, you cannot choose the amount of mulch delivered and it can be up to 20 yards of mulch.

Loma Vista Farm is a beloved Vallejo destination where kids can meet friendly farm animals, dig in the garden, and learn about nature up close. Founded in 1974, this working farm and outdoor classroom is run in partnership with the Vallejo City Unified School District and the Friends of Loma Vista Farm. Families can visit to see goats, pigs, rabbits, chickens, and more while exploring the lush gardens and orchards. The Farm also offers field trips, workshops, and volunteer opportunities that make learning fun and hands-on. It’s a perfect spot for children to connect with animals, the earth, and their community.
